Small Business Saturday is upon us! For us, it is a very special day. It marks another year where we have been loved by our community. It's a day where we are reminded that the little guys can do it too and YOU are the reason why!
Lily Tomlin said, "The road to success is always under construction," and that couldn't be more true. Polka Dotz started as a dream and it has taken a lot of work to get to where we are today and it will take a lot more to get to all the tomorrows.
This year has brought it's fair share of unexpected (let's call them) surprises. Today more than ever it is so important to celebrate the little guys, the mom and pop shops, the local businesses that make us so special.
This small business has meant the world to me and my family. I started with Polka Dotz in 2006 when I was just 19 years old. During my almost 15 year journey I have been blessed to meet people from all over the world, I have seen our young team members grow and go on to their chosen career fields, I have been a part of the ups and downs of our small business like if it was my own because when you are a part of a small business it feels like that all the time. I have raised (and am still raising) a family of my own. It has seen me through my personal ups and downs because they have been my family. It has definitely been an unexpected journey just as 2020 has been to all of us.
This Holiday Season we encourage you to shop small and shop local and support those businesses that started as a dream. A dream that became a reality after tremendous courage and hard work. A dream that can only be successful because people like you who them love and support!
So cheers to the small businesses who have been a family to countless others like me. Cheers to those have made it through all the struggles. Cheers to the ones that have been brave to make their dreams come true!
